Our Strategy

Building Stronger Pathways Between Germany, India and Europe

Germany, India and the wider European Union are entering a period of significant economic, technological and institutional change. The green transition, digital transformation, skilled-workforce needs, shifting value chains and growing demand for resilient partnerships are creating new opportunities for cooperation.

GIBA exists to help turn these opportunities into structured and lasting engagement.

As a Germany-based non-profit organisation, we connect businesses, governments, universities, research institutions and innovation ecosystems across Germany, India and Europe. Our role is to bring the right stakeholders together, develop trusted partnerships and create practical pathways from dialogue to implementation.

Our Strategic Priorities

Economic Cooperation and Market Access

We support companies, institutions and regional ecosystems seeking to engage across Germany and India.

Our work includes business delegations, market-orientation programmes, sector networks, partner identification and structured pathways for internationalisation.

Our objective is to enable informed market engagement and build partnerships that continue beyond the first introduction.

Innovation and Sustainable Transformation

Germany and India possess complementary capabilities in technology, industry, research and entrepreneurship.

GIBA creates platforms for cooperation in areas such as clean energy, hydrogen, sustainable mobility, advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, digital transformation and resilient value chains.

We aim to connect industrial expertise, research capacity and emerging market opportunities in ways that lead to concrete collaborations and projects.

Strategic Dialogue and Knowledge Cooperation

Strong economic relationships require informed dialogue among policy, industry, academia and civil society.

Through the Indo-European Centre for Strategic Dialogue and related platforms, GIBA supports exchange on issues shaping India–Europe relations, including economic policy, sustainability, technology governance, education, research and institutional cooperation.

Our purpose is not dialogue alone, but dialogue that contributes to recommendations, partnerships and defined next steps.

Skills, Mobility and Human Capital

Germany's skilled-workforce needs and India's growing talent base create significant potential for cooperation.

GIBA works with employers, education providers, public institutions and implementation partners to develop responsible pathways connecting education, qualification, language preparation, recruitment, integration and long-term retention.

We promote transparent, ethical and sustainable mobility models that create value for both institutions and participants.

Inclusive and Cross-Cultural Leadership

International partnerships are strengthened by people who can work across cultures, institutions and professional environments.

GIBA supports women's leadership, cross-cultural competence, emerging leaders, institutional chapters and collaborative learning platforms.

We see inclusion and intercultural understanding as essential conditions for stronger institutions and more resilient partnerships.
