The Hydrogen Transition Summit 2026 is an international summit dedicated to advancing collaboration across the hydrogen value chain by bringing together leaders from industry, academia, government, research, investment, and the wider innovation ecosystem. Convened by the German Indian Business Alliance (GIBA) in collaboration with TH Rosenheim – Campus Burghausen, the Summit provides a structured forum for dialogue, knowledge exchange, partnership development, and practical implementation.
As hydrogen continues to emerge as a strategic pillar of industrial decarbonisation, energy security, and sustainable economic development, organisations across the world are transitioning from long-term planning to practical deployment. Achieving this transition requires coordinated action across multiple sectors, including technology development, manufacturing, infrastructure, policy, finance, research, workforce development, and international cooperation. The Hydrogen Transition Summit has been established to support this next phase by fostering meaningful engagement among the stakeholders shaping the future hydrogen economy.
Hosted in Bavaria's industrial and innovation landscape - Burghausen, the Summit brings together expertise from across Europe while creating dedicated opportunities for engagement with India's rapidly evolving hydrogen ecosystem. Rather than positioning hydrogen solely as a technological challenge, the Summit approaches it as a multidisciplinary industrial transition requiring collaboration between businesses, universities, public institutions, researchers, investors, and future talent.
The Summit is designed to facilitate discussions that extend beyond policy and technology. Through keynote addresses, expert panels, thematic discussions, technology showcases, research presentations, industry visits, structured business matchmaking, and networking, participants are encouraged to develop practical partnerships capable of supporting innovation, investment, technology transfer, and long-term cooperation.

The Summit recognises that the hydrogen economy cannot be built by any single organisation, sector, or country. Progress depends upon collaboration between industrial users, technology providers, researchers, governments, investors, educational institutions, and the broader innovation ecosystem. By bringing these communities together within a structured international forum, the Summit seeks to support practical outcomes that continue well beyond the three-day programme.

The Summit addresses hydrogen from a systems perspective, recognising that successful implementation depends upon coordinated progress across technology, infrastructure, regulation, investment, and human capital. Discussions and activities throughout the programme are organised around key themes including hydrogen production, industrial decarbonisation, infrastructure and storage, mobility, manufacturing, safety and certification, research and innovation, digital technologies, workforce development, investment, and international cooperation.
Particular emphasis is placed on strengthening collaboration between Germany and India, reflecting the complementary capabilities of both countries in engineering, industrial manufacturing, renewable energy, applied research, innovation, and market development. A dedicated programme for the Indian Hydrogen Delegation provides additional opportunities for institutional engagement, industry visits, and structured business meetings while maintaining the Summit's broader international outlook.
Platform for Long-Term Collaboration
The Hydrogen Transition Summit is intended to create momentum that extends well beyond the Summit itself. Through continued engagement facilitated by GIBA and its partner network, the relationships established during the programme may evolve into business partnerships, collaborative research projects, technology demonstrations, pilot initiatives, academic exchanges, investment discussions, and institutional cooperation.

Summit Experience
The Summit has been designed as a progressive three-day programme that moves participants from exposure and understanding to dialogue, partnership development, and implementation.
The programme begins with the Indian Hydrogen Delegation, providing Indian participants with curated visits to leading industrial facilities, research laboratories, and regional innovation stakeholders. These visits offer practical insight into Germany's hydrogen ecosystem while creating opportunities for early networking and relationship building.
The second day forms the core of the Hydrogen Transition Summit, bringing together the wider international community for keynote presentations, panel discussions, thematic sessions, technology showcases, poster presentations, startup engagement, and structured networking. Participants gain perspectives from industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, and innovators while exploring developments across the hydrogen value chain.
The final day focuses on implementation through structured business matchmaking and collaboration sessions. Companies, universities, research organisations, government representatives, and innovation partners engage in curated meetings designed to identify opportunities for commercial partnerships, research cooperation, technology transfer, investment, and future collaboration.
